MFA Emphasis in Theatre Technology
The area of theatre technology provides an individually planned curriculum allowing students to prepare for careers in technical direction and scene technology. Individualized study focuses on appropriate craft and management areas, by providing professional study in project and production management, flying and rigging, scene construction and shop management, among other subjects.
Coursework may be further supplemented with additional course work from the School of Art, the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology or other areas of the university.
Many career opportunities are available in the technical management and craft areas including the position of technical director, production manager, shop or construction manager, rigging specialist and road manager.
